Trepassey Phase II

REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION OF THE PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME WITH DEMENTIA CARE.

Trepassey Residential Care Home, formerly a large 19th century private house, is in an attractive location overlooking the Dee Estuary and Welsh Hills. The home, open since 1957 provides care for residents with a current age range from 65 to 103+. With an aging population, there are inevitably a number of residents who have some level of dementia.

In 2018 phase II began, which involved the complete restoration and extension of the existing home. Much needed improvements were made to not only make the building compliant but to also create a warm, calm and pleasant environment for staff and residents to use. Major works included the rearrangement and replacement of the old staircase, the addition of a winter garden and the removal and replacement of the sun lounge, which now has a level access to the outside, onto a new terraced garden, which offers stunning views of the Dee Estuary.

The home remained operational during the entire two-phase construction period therefore the project required complex logistical phasing planning, to allow the home to operate through the 3-year build with minimal disruption to residents, staff and visitors. Phase II was completed in 2019.
