Carden Arms

Public House Refurbishment and Extension

The Carden Arms is a pub situated in the village of Tilston in the deep south of rural Cheshire. The inn sits at the heart of the village and has served the community in a pivotal role for over two centuries and is now the only remaining pub in the village. The new owner’s intention was to maintain and strengthen the pubs place in village life as well as introducing fine food and accommodation for visitors in a traditional manner.

The aim of the proposed work was to develop the property to improve its appearance, its utility and flexibility through a very careful set of interventions, without drastic alteration. It involved the remodelling of the existing access to the pub from the car park together with new extensions to the rear to provide extra accommodation and a welcoming entrance from the car park.

We secured planning approval in 2016 and the client then worked with her contractors to complete the refurbishment with the interiors reflecting her exceptional taste and experience in interior design and furnishing.
