The Queen's School
As a private day school for girls founded in the early 19th Century the School campus has grown steadily to meet advancing educational needs. The senior section of The Queen’s School occupies an enviable location close to the City Centre but in a quiet position overlooking the City Walls.
With an extensive complex of buildings comes the need to pay attention to maintenance and plan carefully for the future. We have been helping the School with a planned maintenance programme which has brought all existing facilities into first class order.
Continued pressure on space has resulted in a long term strategy identifying all the possible areas of expansion. A neighbouring hotel was purchased and converted to a Sixth Form and Learning Resource Centre in 1998, a new Entrance and Administration Block was completed in 2001, and 2003-2004 has seen the completion of the first two phases of a new Science Block.
In 2004 we completed a new library, teaching spaces and entrance loggia at the Junior Department in Liverpool Road.
