Practice Introduction

The practice is based in converted chapel meeting rooms near to the centre of Chester and was founded in 1977. Historically the majority of commissions have been in Cheshire but with a steady proportion of tasks arising in North Wales, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and the Midlands.

Established links with a wide range of consultants allows for the introduction of specialist skills as deemed appropriate when organising the project with the client.  Computer systems are employed for assistance with job management, administration and design. AutoCAD is used to handle the efficient production and management of construction design on all projects with a network of CAD stations operating via a dedicated high speed connection to the internet.  Visualisation software includes 3D Studio VIZ and CorelDraw.

The Practice has developed systems of internal Quality Management and project control which are periodically and methodically revised.  A partner will be happy to answer any questions regarding control of projects from prospective clients.  The most recent external benchmark testing undertaken in 2003 by the Centre for Construction Innovation demonstrated overall above average performance across a broad range of service and business efficiency measures.

Architectural, Energy and Civic awards have been won for both housing and community projects, including a Civic Award for the new Scout Headquarters at the port of Chester, the only new building in Chester to receive this accolade in the City’s Millennium Awards year.
